EXPERIENCE
Case Management Dramatically Improves Productivity
After an established eight member practice had begun
advertising the caseload was growing rapidly. Rather than hire more staff
and lawyers, they sought to improve the ability of each current firm member to
prep and review files. They chose to implement case management software
designed specifically for injury practices. After one year, the partner in
charge of the project reported that each lawyer's ability to review files
increased from 2-3 per day to 6-8. And that support staff now could prep
and review files at double their original rate. Bottom Line: The firm
was able to double its caseload over a two year period while decreasing overall
staffing by one member.
Industrial Commission Form Automation & More
A ten member Workers Compensation firm seeks to improve
profitability and reduce staff by replacing an outdated case management system.
Obsolete computers are replaced and a state-of-the-art case management system
with integrated Industrial Commission form automation is installed.
Existing rudimentary office and case accounting is also replaced by new
software. Secretaries report that they can produce 3-4 times as many
documents as previously. Because of the extra time produced by the
automation their ability to work files is improved and over all case management
quality is higher. Lawyers can now see case expenses in context with file
information and produce settlement contracts with ease. Bottom Line:
Client satisfaction is up, staffing is reduced by one and profitability is
increasing.
Nearly Paperless Office
Seven member firm implements case and document
management so that paper files are not used for pre litigation cases. All
incoming correspondence whether for a case or for the office is scanned via four
strategically placed high-end duplex scanners. Lawyers, paralegals and
administrative staff can access all case information online.
